Simple Tricks To Remove Plaque, Tartar, Bacteria And Cure Bad Breath

Sparkling Teeth

Having sparkling white teeth and a beautiful smile requires more attention to your teeth and have a good oral hygiene. There are so many individuals that don’t give the deserved care to their oral health which results in tooth decay.

There are numerous factors that cause your teeth an irreversible damage, such as using old tools, brushing them at the wrong time, brushing them too hastily and the most essential thing is that individuals forget to brush their teeth in the morning.

Here's how you should take care of teeth and avoid frequent mistakes and hazards:

Brushing up and down is improper

You should not brush your teeth up and down for the reason that it can erode the gums, instead try brushing them in gentle and circular motions, massaging the gums and teeth. The bacteria hides in the gums, so the toothbrush bristles need to go into the gum, not only to glide over the teeth surface. You should also use a medium strength brush. If you have observed that your gums start bleeding while you brush your teeth, it is simply because you are doing it wrong.

According to dentists, you should dedicate an equal amount of time on each section of the mouth. You would need around 2 minutes in order to brush your teeth properly.

Use sodium bicarbonate and strawberries

You can prepare a natural teeth whitener by mixing sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) and strawberries. All you need to do is to mix 8 strawberries and half a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix them well and prepare a paste. Once ready, put a cotton piece between your teeth to bite on and then apply the paste over your teeth. Gently rub the paste a little to whiten the teeth. Baking soda acts as an abrasive so it will help you get rid of the stains from coffee, tea and smoking. Strawberries will also help you take out the stains because it contains ascorbic acid.

Alternative way to keep your teeth white and healthy is by consuming hard cheeses. Cheese counterbalances plaque acid because the fermented dairy product increases alkaline in the mouth and forms shield around your teeth.

Brush before breakfast

Make sure to brush your teeth before breakfast because if you do that after consuming sugary or acidic food, it will only rub the sugar into the teeth and wear away the enamel. If you like to brush teeth after breakfast, wait for about an hour to give your saliva a chance to neutralize the acid. Brush your teeth before going to bed because at this time of the day you yield the least amount of saliva. When the levels of saliva are reduced, bacteria can cause cavities.

Chew gum only for 10 minutes
Despite the fact we love the freshness of gums in our mouth, it should not stay longer than 10 minutes in our mouth because chewing gums for too long can cause oral problems. Teeth break things down, but gums are soft and teeth begin to bump one another, causing breaking and chipping. Moreover, while chewing, your stomach expects food and starts producing acid which can irritate the stomach lining, eventually causing stomach ulcers

Brush your tongue

If you want to have a fresh breath, brush your tongue, because it comprises most bacteria which produce sulfur and makes breathe smell unpleasant. Clean your tongue with a toothbrush or a tongue scraper or use an electric toothbrush. It is more effective to use electric toothbrush because it does all the work for you.

Don’t forget to floss

You should floss every day or at least every other day.

According to some studies, flossing can extend people’s lives, while people with gum disease have better chances to suffer from coronary heart disease. This is because gum disease causes dangerous bacteria which are released into the bloodstream. Flossing disturbs the bacteria so they can’t propagate.
